Part A: Reading (25 Marks)
1. Read the following story and answer the questions that follow:
Visiting a Village Fair
Recently I have paid a visit to a village fair. The fair is named Fakir Mela after Golam Ali Fakir. The fairground is at Belokathi, adjacent to Panjia, in the district of Jessore. The fair is held annually for three days at a stretch. It begins with the very arrival of Baishakh. This year the fairground was adorned with gorgeous and artistic fashion and device. The whole ground was fenced with lots of designed coloured papers affixed with long rope. The white canopy with crimson red fringe was hung atop. There are some old and tall trees in the fair compound. The bottom part of all trees was painted white. There is a large pond with brick-built ghat in the southern side of the fair complex. Some lore masters of the locality claim there are lots of large and old fishes into the dark-black water of the pond. But these fishes are beyond our reach. Moreover, fishing is strictly prohibited from this pond as fishing here is an omen for our life according to lore masters.
However, lots of stalls were seen there standing in line. There was an open space for displaying agricultural tools and raw goods. Various types of fancy goods such as ribbon, lace, bangle, toy, etc., were available there. Multifarious household necessaries such as knick-knacks, utensils, crockeries, clothings and so on were also omnipresent in the ground. I enjoyed merry-go-round, jugglery, acrobatic, shooting etc. There was a stage in the middle of the ground. On that stage many cultural programmes were performed for three days. Lots of village folks enjoyed drama, Beder Meya Jothsna. The fair was highly appealing to the village women and girls in particular. Even the old of hundred years stepped to the fair with jolly mood.
Basically, the fair I visited is a mirror of village culture which is the testimony of age-old tradition of the Bangalees. My three day's visit to the fair was a combination of thrill and reality of pastoral life.

Bribery, misuse of power, nepotism, avarice for wealth, and social condition are the root of corruption. Thus, the society has to suffer a lot for corruption. his wings are clipped and
